Pakistan's National Tariff Commission (NTC) has imposed temporary anti-dumping duties on cold steel imports from the European Union, South Korea, Vietnam and Taiwan to protect local industries from dumping.
According to the official statement, the provisional anti-dumping duty on the EU is set at 6.5% based on CFR, 13.24% in South Korea, 17.25% in Vietnam and 6.18% in Taiwan“ From August 23, 2021, anti-dumping duties will be levied on these products imported from the above countries for a period of four months, the state Tariff Commission said.
On February 25, 2021, the state Trade Commission launched an anti-dumping investigation on imported cold coils from the European Union, South Korea, Vietnam and Taiwan in response to the application filed by international steel limited and Aisha steel mills Limited on December 28, 2020. These companies claim that the flat materials of the above countries were sold to Pakistan at dumping prices, which caused substantial damage to the local industry. The program involves 17 products corresponding to HS series.
As the main producer of cold milk products in Pakistan, international steels limited can produce 1 million cold products, 450000 plated steel and 840000 polymer coated products, while Aisha steel works Co., Ltd can produce 450000 cold coils and 250000 plated steel.
